Robert's mother Pamela Newhaven was unable to make it back to Earth in time for delivery from the Construction Platform on-site of Station 1. As the new stations will have artificial gravity Robert Nathiel MacManus is both the first Terran baby born in space in the new century and the last Terran likely to be born in zero gravity. Robert Nathiel is the second child to Pamela and her husband, RIGEL Aerospace heir, Nathiel Adam MacMANUS. Baby MacManus is hailed as a "Space Oddity" by the WorldNET Media. First draft receives unanimous approval with only minor recommendations and revision amendments suggested before it moves to committee. 2201 - November 1 On adoption of the United Earth motion by the Civilian Assembly the New SOVIET announces they will participate formally in joint-operations when GEO-HOUSE opens. 2201 - November 13 The New SOVIET signs UNTOS formally linking their space agency GLAVCOSMOS to the Treaty although still as a separately operating branch. 2202 - January 1 The WORLD LEGISLATURE concept will divide Earth into 10 intra-dependent regions known as LEAGUES. Under this plan each region will have internal sovereignty which limits the influence of the WORLD LEGISLATURE unless representatives of a majority of the population in that Region formally request GEO-HOUSE intervention. The NORTH AMERICAN LEAGUE would consist of WestCan, Canada, the Union of Western States, the United States of America, parts of the Nordic Union in that hemisphere, but not Mexico which is part of the Carribean Union. The Leagues are: North American League; Central American League; EuroLeague; Asian Association (India, China, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and such, not including Japan); African Alliance (not including Egypt and Libya); League of South America; Pacific League (Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Phillipines and various pacific ocean nations); New SOVIET Blok; Union of Middle Kingdoms (Israel, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, UAE, Libya, Pakistan); Oceanic League (Antarctica and all other island nations which are not aligned). In the case of the Oceanic League, the smaller island nations which were otherwise not aligned were linked to Antarctica which is forbidden from having a permanent population and given an equal voice in the Legislature due to the tremendous ecological impact the other nations have on this region. The representatives of the Oceanic League are the voice for all international waters. After details of this union are released the process begins to bog down as internal region struggles begin to resurface and tensions around the Globe increase. The concept is shelved while new rounds of talks are scheduled in an attempt to resolve these issues. ALISON will meet Robert N MacMANUS on a visit to the MacMANUS estate in Alberta coinciding with one of Robert's visit. From then until they are re-united several years later on Station L5 in lunar Lagrainge orbit ALISON will carry a crush on the young MacMANUS. 2202 - August 6, 3:27pm UT Isaac Bill MAGELLAN born to Samantha Heather Rogers and Isaac Leonard Magellan in Chicago Illinois USAmerica. Bill MAGELLAN will grow up to be an intuitive operations officer. Through his involvement with Robert MacMANUS, after his parents move to Station L5 in 2210, Bill will have the chance to develop and shine as a very skilled pilot. MAGELLAN will be a founding member of the 655 Squadron. 2202 - December 21 RIGEL Aerospace Systems Engineer Dr Michael NEWVILLE successfully achieves the first permanent activation of his RAEB (Rigel Aerospace Electro-Brain) system. The self-directed capabilities demonstrate that the RAEB is not only the most adaptive and intelligent system ever built, but allows the FIRST SON to achieve true sentience by 2210. The FIRST SON is specifically intended for the RIGEL THREE spaceship and will be installed following cognizance of the first production clone (CORE RAEB). 2202 GRAND Designs begins operation thanks to partnership deal with RIGEL Aerospace. GRAND Designs makes personal transportation craft reminescent of 20th Century automobiles using the recently devloped RIGEL MICRO-Grav-Reaction Plates. 2204 European Compact joins UNCA. 2205 Aysia joins UNCA. 2206 - January 31 Sean Mitchell Finnegan, 2nd in line to the title Fifth Lord Novus of Manchester, born to 4th Lord, Harris Finnegan and Tianna Mitchell at Queen Daliah United Memorial Hospital, Salford, Manchester, England, UK. Finnegan will be a founding member of the 655 Squadron but will somehow avoid being known as a pivotal figure in the "Farside Incident". 2206 - June 9 LUNA SIX: Commonwealth BASE begins operation in the Exodus Crater on the Moon. Sponsored by WestCan, Canada, India and South Africa with strong financial support from RIGEL Aerospace the base houses a massive production and testing facility built to produce materials required for further lunar habitation. 2206 Dr Kurasawi GINSANG introduces his Table of Environments on a grant from the COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL SIMPLICITY. A skilled pilot and lobbyist Jane took Rigel to the forefront of the Aerospace industry with her constant challenge for all employees to create product "Better than State of the Art". In 2184 Jane returned to University at the age of 62, earned her full MBA and then lectured part-time until her full retirement in 2199 where she proceeded to write about her life and her philosophies of business until her passing. One of Jane's final passions was time spent with her Great Grandson Robert Nathiel MacMANUS for 4 months each summer at the family estate near Vulcan, Alberta, Westcan. 2210 - June 17 Enough of Station L8 is completed for full time habitation to occur. It will take another year to bring the Station to full operation. Long term residency shifts from L4 and L5 to this new Space Colony allowing retasking of the older stations with new personnel and habitants. 2210 - August 6 A new, more powerful and adaptive Communication Pod is anchored at the top of Station L5. Work will begin to rehabilitate the upper decks of the station in order to increase tourism to the station. 2210 - December 10 The FIRST SON RAEB is installed into the RAEB HOUSING of the RIGEL THREE following cognizance of the first production CLONE, the CORE RAEB in the Rigel Orbital Production, Lunar Orbit.
