You know I've always thought that I'd never get a tattoo, but if I did there were only a few images I'd want on my body. Assuming that you tattoo yourself with symbols relating to who you are as a person one of those would have to be the 7-Eleven logo.
Every since I was a little boy and came across one of the first 7-Elevens in Canada (At No. 3 Road and Blundell in Richmond, BC!) I've always recognized any place with such a plethora of beverages (cold and hot!) and variety of items for sale for what it is - the perfect base to operate from, no matter where I am!
Yes, it's true. I plan my vacations around their presence. I mark them on maps before visiting towns and check them out almost upon arrival. People mock me for it, at least those who haven't travelled with me mock me. Those who have travelled with me have come to respect that no matter what the travel condition there are very few problems that can't be solved by a quick trip into one of these glorious stores.
Got a headache from walking? Pain relief in aisle three!
Thristy as heck from the sun? Choose from over 300 beverages, in every form from nearly frozen, to juice, to fountain, to hot (and if you're in the States even alchoholic!).
Don't like ice in your pop? Don't put any in.
Want a flavour burst in your coffee? Go ahead and play with any one of the 1300+ ways to make a coffee at 7-Eleven.
Because at 7-Eleven YOU ARE IN COMPLETE CONTROL.
So laugh if you must but understand, whether you need batteries or a band-aid, pepsi or a coke, last minute birthday cards, gifts or money (every 7-Eleven in Canada has a bank machine on the CIBC/PC Financial network and they're Interact capable!) you can count on the old 7-Eleven to be always open and always ready.
