A trip around Mars fuels MacManus' suspicions that something wrong is going on with the red planet.

SYNOPSIS:

Tension mounts as the ill-prepared MacMANUS pilots the back-up ARROWHEAD craft in the second attempt to break the Light Barrier.
During his trip around Mars MacMANUS visually observes a phenomenon which does not register on any of his instrumentation.
MacMANUS completes his mission but when Command ignores his visual accounts in the debriefing he assembles the 655 Squadron with a very familiar plan.
