FINNEGAN'S SQUAD: "Pravda Republik"
BEGIN OPENING ACT:
EXT. SPACE - EARTH FROM A DISTANCE
From beyond Lunar Orbit we see the Earth. A large flat space
vessel passes our position slowly approaching the blue green
world as the Anthem of the New Soviet plays behind a string
of Russian communications and data exchanges.
The vessel is the New Soviet Carrier POLYAKOV.
In jump cuts we see it approach a large industrial looking
space complex mid-way between the Earth and Moon and some 20
degrees above the Lunar Orbit plane.
SUPER: HIGH EARTH ORBIT, NEW SOVIET SPACE COMPLEX 'VOLKOV'
The deadly looking space craft pulls into place among various
other New Soviet wessels (intentional misspelling).
EXT. NEW SOVIET SPACE COMPLEX VOLKOV
Crews stand by watching the Polyakov pull in, the mooring
locks secure the craft and the docking hatches connect the
Carrier to it's home port.
INT. NEW SOVIET SPACE COMPLEX VOLKOV
Lab coated crews carrying padded cases await clearance from
their military escorts. Once given they enter the Polyakov
en masse.
INT. NEW SOVIET CARRIER POLYAKOV
These crews enter and spread throughout the craft.
They move about under the watchful eye of Political Officers
and pull components from various electrical lockers.
From the padded cases they remove much smaller units, tiny
components that seem to be nothing but small plastic replicas
of Molars.
These units are installed at various locations throughout the
ship, then as quickly as they came they pack up their cases
and depart the craft.
EXT. NEW SOVIET SPACE COMPLEX VOLKOV
The New Soviet Carrier Polyakov withdraws from the New Soviet
Space Complex.
EXT. SPACE - EARTH FROM A DISTANCE
In a reverse of the approach the Polyakov withdraws from
Earth's micro-system, this under complete silence.
INT. STATION 1 - TRANSIT HUB CONTROL
A large display plots in three dimensions all the vehicles,
stations and complexes in Earth orbit.
We are close in on one such icon, a red representation of the
Polyakov moving slowly out of Earth orbit.
Two Transit Controllers are watching this.
CONTROLLER ONE
That's the sixth one this week.
CONTROLLER TWO
Seventh.
CONTROLLER ONE
Really?
CONTROLLER TWO
Yeah. They come in noisy, they
leave quiet.
CONTROLLER ONE
How are they doing that?
CONTROLLER TWO
I don't know and I don't like it.
CONTROLLER TWO turns away from the display instead looking
out the row of windows that surround Transit Control.
CONTROLLER TWO (cont'd) (CONT'D)
If the New Soviet has found a way
to communicate without us listening
in then that can only mean trouble.
EXT. SPACE - AT STATION 1 - CONTROL TOWER
Controller Two stares out as if seeing the passing New Soviet
Carrier will solve this mystery.
We jump cut out to a wider view of Station 1, the main
transfer station moving just inside Lunar Orbit.
We jump cut to a view that includes Station 1, the Moon and
Station 5 gliding 60 degrees behind the Moon in Lunar orbit.
